Brainstorm Buffets
Check back for the Fall Schedule!
Brainstorm Buffets: A meal, an inspired conversation and a chance to brainstorm about how we might work together to promote elementary science education nationally.
Working in partnership with science education advocacy organizations around the country, the Elementary Science Coalition is building a broad momentum to strengthen the nation's understanding of the importance of elementary science education.
Together with our partners, we are hosting a series of "Brainstorm Buffets," informal gatherings in various locations around the country for Coalition members and supporters of elementary science to define the course for the Coalition.
We are enjoying rich conversations about the next steps to bring elementary science to the forefront of the science education conversation across the country.
• Developing strategies to take messages to local congressional districts about the importance of elementary science education in time for the change in administration that's coming in Washington.
• Building a national PR campaign and constituent outreach effort to children, families, and educators. Our first step: the "National Refrigerator Door Project," an online project collecting artwork and ideas about how children imagine science in partnership with the Council on the Public Understanding of Science and the American Institute of Biological Sciences.
Brainstorm Buffets are breakfast, lunch, and dinner meetings, Dutch Treat, at restaurants around the country. If you're a champion of elementary science and would like to join us at a Buffet, please email Rita Ferrandino at rita@arccd.com. We'd love to have you join us!
